Why has this taken 1 year and 20 days after the birth of our beloved child? Let me explain...
Ryan and I had a pivotal conversation today that proves he is devoloping true fatherly characteristics. It went a little something like this -
Ryan : (tease - stale joke - tease)
Me : honey you've used that joke 3 times today - it's not funny any more
Ryan : (scoff) honey, don't you know? my jokes never die, they go on forever
-and that is the moment Ryan became a dad-
This is a special shout out to my own dad, who's quiver of once clever retorts, favorite stories and signature jokes I can often predict and are expected when the formulaic situations arise. Don't worry dad I can still appreciate most of them and it's just one of the charms that make me love you. (Ned is off the hook this time since I don't know his old classics yet - Miller girls feel free to comment on this.)
On the subject of the charms that make me love my dad - he chronicles his life and adventures with self portraits. Here's one such gem for everyone's viewing pleasure.
(note: this is one of his most photogenic ones - I wish I had the Kinektock black eye photo.) Sure love you pops!
And don't worry honey, I'll love you even if you use your jokes after they are long dead.

Oh Christiney
Well I am not sure anyone but you and me will appreciate that post, but touche..... so good and so true, and so funny. I think since you are the child that still will chuckle at your dad's stale jokes, I think Ryan has the perfect wife to laugh at his stale jokes for another 50 years - and what great fathers they both are!
That is awesome. My dad is the exact same way with his jokes and one liners.
Amen to that! My Dad and Devin's Dad repeat the same jokes over and over, and... I just keep laughing over and over. It's what your supposed to do, right? It gets more endearing the older I get. Thanks for the post, it made us laugh.
Sorry I am late at posting a comment. But I had to comment about my favorite "Dad" joke. Here it is:
"Hey Dad I am running to Logan, do you need anything?"
Response: "Wouldn't it be faster to drive?"
-Classic.... I actually still think it is really funny when he says this. It doesn't get old.
