A Wonderful Weekend Visit

Last weekend we were lucky enough to get a visit from Ned and Cindy. I forget how much I miss being around family, until I get to be with them again. We had such a good time chatting and eating and hanging out. When the Millers come to visit they always leave the house in better condition and the fridge with more food in it than when they came - they are better than the tooth fairy!

(The only good thing about their departure is that Bel will let me hold her again - I am no competition with sweet grandma and grandpa.)
Bel bonded with both of them : One morning sweet Ned rescued Bel from Baby Einstein and fed her her traditional oatmeal and milk breakfast, then they played until her mother rolled out of bed at 8:30 (ahhh blessed sleep - thanks Ned!). And Cindy probably has stronger arms now, since she had to hold Bel during all her waking hours for 3 days straight - As soon as grandma walked into the room a certain little girl was at her feet or lunging from mom's arms toward grandma - so cute!
Not only did we take advantage of the free babysitting services for 2 movie nights (what a treat!!!), but they gave me a shiny new digging fork and just you wait till you see what I was able to do with it... (you'll have to check back for the next post to see before and after shots - i know the suspense is killing you)
Thanks so much for the visit - our house just isn't the same without your sweet company. All our love!!

What a cute family. I am glad you Millers are keeping the visits up, and that Bel doesn't forget she is loved by the grammas and grandpas.

AH man she is so adorable I just want to eat her up (but not really). I guess I should say snuggle her up forever. I do. I really want to. And by the way, the offbrand Western Family of HOney Bunches are WAY better than the real thing! I totally agree! I just told that to Scott the other day and he wouldn't believe me. The bunches are delicious! I am having a dilema though, Dan's is the only place nearby (that I've found) that carries them. And Dan's is super expensive. So I always shop at Smiths. Unfortunately Smith's does not carry the deliciousness so I'm thinking I need to make a special trip to Dan's once a week or so just for the offbrand honey bunch goodness. Definitely would be worth it. Great taste Geeno! Glad we're on the same page!

It really makes you appreciate how WONDERFUL family is when you are away, doesn't it?

I love that Bel is attached to her grandparents... that is something that is nice all around - for the mom, the grandma, and everyone else.

Yeah for your fun weekend!

Sounds like you really have awesome family. And I'm glad that Bel really takes advantage of her time with them! Grandparents are so wonderful. :) I'm sure that Mom and Dad agree.

Christine! I am so proud, you've been doing such a great job updating your blog. I love it. Good work.

I love that pic of all of you at dinner, you and Ryan are just glowing. I can tell you guys are so happy for some company. Yeah.. it'll be awhile till I have kids. I am a sleep aholic. I love it.

So it's been finals... and it's been a very, very tiring couple of days. Yesterday I was in the library resting my eyes for a few minutes. (It was 3:00) When I woke up it was 6:22! I died. Ryan picks me up from school at 5:30. Poor guy had been walking around campus for an hour. He was not happy to hear that I was sleeping. AH! Such a deep sleeper.

My Dear Christine,

It was soooo much fun spending time with you in Kirksville. You made us feel so welcome even though we threw your schedule completely out the window. I hope you will forgive us for that. Thanks for taking such good care of Ryan and Bel. Your home is filled with warmth and love. Keep up the good work and we'll come back to visit as soon as we can.
