we've had a sunny spring week - it's been simply lovely! we finally got to dust off the chariot and take jack and bel for a ride together - they both loved it - yay!

gosh - isn't he handsome!?!

bel found a ladybug and observed, screamed at, ran from and harrassed it for at least 20 minutes.

I love how she is experiencing so many things for the first time - she really appreciates things and soaks it all in. if i don't limit her then she is never bored - she runs around discovering all kinds of new things and activities. similarly i am experiencing all these things from a parenting perspective for the first time so i can watch her in equal amazement for hours at a time
We've been lucky that she hasn't been much of a climber so when her new hiding place of the day was on the window sill behind her curtains - i simply had to document the climbing it took to get there. (she's saying, "here i am!")

In case you were wondering she is loving her little brother.

One last thing... Some of you may know that I've had my struggles with the fact that Ryan is not 6 inches taller than me (so I can comfortably gain a few pounds in my old age and he'll still be bigger than me in some way). This week the issue was settled - the verdict is in - here it is : our height according to Bel

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! I love that video! That is so funny! Thanks for the update. I love love love them!
I feel like each post, your entire blog is my personal gift. Thank you. I wondered if you cut that video off quickly before Bel could say that short fat mayo jar was her grandma wood..... ha ha ha - just can't help it. I am so glad spring came for you. We had snow on Easter sunday and are bracing for another storm tonight. I just wish I was laying on my belly watching ladybugs with Bel! That little Jack.... oh my I just wish I could see the Miller family cruising Kirksville with that chariot of darlings
Cute, cute kids!!
Wow, I think Bel has grown up a ton just since you had little Jack. She totally looks different in these pictures. I really need to call you and catch up but we are out of phone minutes until the 8th. Lame. I'll call you when they start over though. I hope you're doing great and loving your new baby boy!
xoxo
The thing that keeps us young is to be able to always see things thru the eyes of our youth. The sad thing is that when we grow taller - - the world thinks we must grow older. Wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to open our eyes each morning, with the excitement that Bel and Jack have right now, knowing that "TODAY" is going to be a brand new adventure and the world is filled with things that we haven't discovered yet. Love ya'll in Missouri.

You simply have beautiful kids. I love them! That picture of Bel holding Jack on the couch is my favorite - her adorable little pigtails and the biggest smile her cute little face would allow.
I miss you, and hope you're doing great. Tell Ryan "hi" too!
Priceless!!!I love it when you update your blog....just for us grandma's:) Oh how I miss you! I would love to go play hide and seek with Bel and cuddle Jack, Hurry and finish that darn schooling and COME BACK HOME.XOXOX
oh my goodness I have laughed so hard and so often about Bel's condiment assignments. I say she's nailed it. It's amazing how much comfort I take from an overheard conversation between my boys, "Mom is the oldest in our family but Dad is the biggest." In my book that 5-year-old's word is law. I forbid us both to ever be insecure again!
I LOVE that Bel was screaming at the Lady Bug..So funny. They are both so darn cute. Fun video, too.
That is sooo funny! I remember your issues with the height thing, which I think is totally silly, because I have never thought you look taller than Ryan. I'm glad Bel told you how it is! :) Your children are ADORABLE by the way!
