a late night laugh

here's the story - bel is getting progressively worse at sleeping through the night. so the other day i checked out a sleep book from the library called "5 days to a perfect night's sleep for your child" - sounds promising right?? I should have known it would be the "cry it out" approach, which I'll end up trying eventually but I am hesitant because of this line from the book that is supposed to encourage me to stay strong... "There's no reason to be scared or to cave, not even if she vomits or bangs her head against her crib."

Well that just sent me into a fit of laughter as i contemplated my sweet little bel doing her hysterical back arches at 3am (yes, it has happened) - at least she's not vomitting and banging her head against the crib right?? Even now I can't stop giggling. I'm just not sure how the editor let that get into the book worded so callously.

WOW. Even your hard hearted sister would have to draw the line at vomiting and head banging. Does it say anything about loss of consciousness? Oh, wait, maybe that's the point?

Haha! Wow, sometimes I wonder if people even listen to what they are saying.... yeah, don't cave EVEN if your child is covered with their own vomit, eventually they'll go to sleep. Yikes
